John, your question deserves a lot more thought than I can give it right now. But let me make one quick observation. Markets are prone to excesses, and value investors make a living spotting those. Market timers claim that they have the ability to anticipate the psychology of the market and make a living doing that. My style is neither of those. I am a growth investor, and am less concerned with the difficult process of valuation and totally unconcerned with short-term market moves than I am a vision that I develop for the company ten or more years out.

The problem that I have is that the market's vision of many of those companies is so much grander than mine (and most who know me consider me if not a bit of a pollyanna, certainly an optimist) that I cannot help but counsel caution.

TTFN,
