There probably is no point in Allen to post until things settle down a bit. The last thing we want is for the thread to start looking at Mr. Benn as being an irrational fan, blindly in love with his favourite stock. If he posted now, there are a few people who would start throwing out such (useless) accusations.

I think Mr Benn has a lot of value to share. Like anyone else, he also needs to step back and absorb all the data-points. Unlike most others, Mr. Benn has an astute ability to distill very valuable information out of the data-points.

Give him a little time. I am sure he will post soon.

William,
In highly inflated market times with a significant portion of investors in the momentum camp, a sell off like occurred in WIND is not unusual. Many fund managers and large investors shoot first and ask questions later. Look at what happened to VSIO when the CFO said that their growth would be "only" 30% for the next 2 quarters and then would resume their usual 40% rate. The firm which lowered its earnings estimates for VSIO kept its long term growth expectation at 40% but the stock dropped quickly from above 40 to below 26.

For an even more dramatic (and painful for me) example, look at MRVC. They have never had a losing quarter but were slaughtered when they announced on one of the worst days of the year, Aug.31, that they had stumbled and would miss a few quarter's estimates (NOT LOSE MONEY). Check out that thread now for very interesting recent developments.

Finally, look at THQI which has dropped from around 31 to 23 (now heading back up) on absolutely nothing but good news. The stock market is often not rational, especially over the short term.

Just some food for thought.

Bob

Split in the form of a "stock dividend".

"The record date for the split will be Jan. 19, 1999. Certificates evidencing the new shares will be issued on the payment date of Feb. 4, 1999."

Person A holding 2000 shares on the record date (Jan 19) at $48ish a share gets a dividend of 1000 more shares on the payment date (Feb 4).

Their stake of $96,000 remains unchanged by the split, but they now hold 3000 shares. So I make $32 the split adjusted price of Wind as of Jan 19.

We're a buck above this, so there's nothing for Wind CFO to comment about. Quit whining.
