Gut feeling also - end of today could be real interesting either way RMBS goes - but it just turned green on my screen, now let's see what the shorts will do.

REH, I don't mean to bum you out but Morgan Stanley's Edelstone already made an "initial" Fiscal Year 2000 (ends Sept 2000) earnings estimate. He said in his Jan 15th report that he would set his initial estimate for FY 00 at $1.00.

This sounds low to me and it appears that he is just kind of winging it b/c we don't have that much info yet. The way he worded the estimate made it seem like he will change it at any time once we get some more information. He had to say something, so he said one buck.

However, in a report dated July 16 1998, Edelstone's model had Rambus capturing 2/3 of the DRAM market by 2003. He predicted the market would be growing at about 30 % annually until then. With these stats in mind, he threw out an earnings estimate of "AT LEAST $5.50 in 2003". Unfortunately, 2003 is a long way away but that's how you make big money - by buying a Dell or an Intel type stock early in the game.

Take care,

Doug
