Good old Schwab! I sold some stock today electronically. The order disappeared into the ether. So I called the US and sold it again through a live broker. That order disappeared, too. Meanwhile the stock I was selling had fallen in value. A few calls to Schwab, they checked the tape. They confirmed that I placed my order and had it confirmed. But the broker had entered it into somebody else's account. Apparently, the person passing on my telephone call to the broker had given the wrong number and name and all the time I was talking to the broker he thought I was somebody else. They said they are innundated with calls.

Happy ending, they credited me with the full price at the time I made the call and did not charge commission.
