Head-fake This kind of false-start in the morning is pretty common with internet stocks. I've seen it happen regularly with Inktomi (INKT) on minimal news. Basically what happened for INPR is that a bunch of people (well enough to buy about 100-200K shares) read the headline of the press-release, saw the extravagant earnings, didn't bother to do their research, and put in market buy orders. The MM's seeing the market orders pushed the price up until the market orders were all filled at the high price and then let it drop. Moral of the story? Don't do market orders, don't do any orders without doing your research. Or, watch for similar sucker plays on other issues and see if you can take advantage of the market-order-suckers yourself.

Indeed! HEAD FAKE! It should have GAP'D down not up! The news was before open and MMs should have GAP'd INPR down to at least 5.5. Instead it even gap'd up this morning. GO FIGURE! Then 20-30 minutes later after all the suckers bought at 6 and up - they tank the stock as if all of a sudden they just read the BIZZ wires. Perhaps the MMs are trying to get every buck they can even if it is buy stealing. Perhaps Milberg Weiss should sue the MMs for the B.S. they pulled at the open! It was the worse job I have ever seen MMs do. I would say it was conspiracy and fraud. They should be investigated!
