Micron Technology, DRAM chip maker's shares benefitting from strike at Korean chip plant. Analysts predicting that prolonged strike should reduce DRAM supply and lead to better than expected pricing through 1999. Moreover, Micron has been giving indication that 30%-35% sequential bit growth may be acheivable, vs the 20% sequential growth the company forecast last month. Yesterday, CE Unterberg Towbin raised its Feb. qtr estimate from a loss of $0.09 to profit of $0.08 and increased its FY99 estimate from $0.08 to $0.49. The firm raised its price target from $80 to $110.

Joe, Your the first one to talk about a split, but I've been thinking
myself about that for a couple of weeks. Micron has in the past
split it's stock at around 100, just look back to the1993-95 for evidence of that. Realistically if this shortage persist all we need
is a hint that earnings could be to the high side, and I would'nt be
surprised to see at least a couple of $4-6 days to the upside!! I've
seen this happen before. Personally I think one is coming!!
