Most people are of the view that if you are against abortion, YOU shouldn't/needn't have one! And most people refrain from infringing upon others' decisions in this regard.

The fact is that public opinion is about evenly divided on the question of abortion, Does this survey come from the same polling company that produced the notorious "80% favor prayer in school" results that we keep hearing about here? Theres a flaw in this you know, you are extrapolating the results of what the population wants on abortion based on some other issues - such as, a right wing candidate wins an office, say he is pro-life, therefore his voters are pro-life etc. After all, we havent had a vote on abortion lately have we? But go ahead, make my day - lets conduct a mock trial and vote on the abortion issue. I think you'll find out what Lungren found out in California.
