I thought I was clear. Sorry.

The point was that EMC could say that they are recommending to the board to vote a x for 1 split now, and that perfectly permissable to publically disclose. That says to me: EMC is going to split their stock.

So they could do it two ways:

1) Indicate publically that the board HAS approved the split of X for 1, or.
2) Indicate publically that they are going to ASK to board to approve a split of X for 1.

Either way, it could be disclosed to the public (like PFE did today, via way #2).
