Bux, they are losers, not loosers! And SurferM, Tero is not infatuated with Ericy; Noka is his Babe. His britches will not getting looser motions. Check out Noka stock price! Q! +$5 does seem to be quite a jolt away from Limtex's Natural Home in the 40s which might bear the same resemblance to Q! from now on as caves do to a human's natural home these days.

Incidentally, I wonder how Ramsey's vacation is going.

I hope he didn't bail out at the top. Usually people complain about being kicked out at the bottom of a Big Dipper due to margin. Maybe Ramsey did a contrarian self-eviction at the top believing his own Vacation Effect disaster scenario. A shame to have followed Q! for at least 3 years to only miss the Big Tsunami - you on board SurferM?

PS: Thanks for that Bux [The Thin Phone url]
gadgetguru.com.

We can conclude that Tero will be consoling himself that this will probably be delayed until May 2000 by which time Nokia's huge R&D budgets will have brought out something even more amazing. He can forget the talktime, standby time advantages he has gone on about. He can forget a lot of the advantages he has claimed. With cdmaOne, the network is now starting to feature more prominently and his GSM handset advantage has almost disappeared.

Big trouble Tero! Nokia better hurry and get with WWeb and drop the whole GSM nonsense like a hot brick. As Tero himself has pointed out, Nokia was clever and didn't just stand pat on a strong platform, they climbed off it while it was ascendant and built another even better one in GSM. I suspect they'll have the wit to do the same with the whole GSM platform, perhaps while Ericy is still trying to bring out something to catch up in GSM.

Tero, you better drop the GSM too before you get left behind by Nokia! You wouldn't want to be the only one left in a tank full of hagfish.

Since the guru url will age soon, here is the paragraph, complete with 'half-inch think' typo:

Qualcomm Thin Phone
Thin definitely is one of the buzzwords for consumer electronics in 1999 -- I've seen thin TV screens, thin computers and now Qualcomm has introduced a thin phone for the wireless consumer. Launched today and called the Qualcomm Thin Phone, this line features two models, the QCP-860, an 800 MHz dual-mode digital and analog cellular phone that supports seamless roaming, and the QCP-1960, a 1900 MHz single-mode digital PCS phone. The Qualcomm Thin Phone is only 1/2-inch think and 4-inches long, Click here for more

Gee SurferM, maxed out to the Visa card sounds a bit on the dodgy side. What if another GSTRF rocket crashes and takes out the world's financial system again causing a margin call despite great cdmaOne sales? 100% of your own money seems fine to me. Using other people's money should be a bit more circumspect - one day interest rates will rise and markets will fall.....

What a dillemma! I was buying my shares, that I had sold after earnings. I got my last 1000 back at 64 today. My putts at this rate will be worthless soon, but I dont care if the stock finally launches. I think recovery after earnings fall off in unusiall for the stock. I cant remember such a strong post earnings run up. I think you are right that something is fundementally diferent. However with Q's bad karma China will devalue and everything will get hamered

How right you are. Qualcomm has, for the most part, only been traded and not held by investors. They have learned, "buy in the 40's, sell in the 60's" and for 3-4 years that strategy has worked. Most of the long term holders feel like idiots watching Q go up and down. The only meaningful institutional holder is Greg P. One of these days institutional investors will recognize this is a stock they have to own and the stock will never look back. That's why you have to own it through thick and thin. The time may soon be approaching. Did anyone hear the ERICY conference call today? They seemed a little frosty and testy when responding to the two questions on W-CDMA!! Something is up - could convergence be at hand?
