Musea, I think the difference for me is that I could imagine the earnings possibilities with companies like MSFT, INTC and DELL, and they made investing in these companies sensible albeit risky ventures (especially Dell). But I cannot imagine similar possibilities with AOL. It is a very solid company, but I cannot begin to imagine how it would need to perform in order to justify its current price, and that's my quandary.

I do not invest on the basis of "valuation", but I think it is a reasonable reality check to at least go through the exercise.
