No from the looks of it the value of the deal was based on the two companies current market cap. If the investment community views the merger as bullish then both stocks will pop. If we get one half share for a $60 stock then to break even we need $120 share Canadian. Sounds like the new entity will have about 80 million shares out and a fairly tight float with JDS's parent owning a big chunk. Can you spell stock split in six months or so.

I guess the power buyers pushing JDS to $63 today knew what they were doing...

Management will talk the merger up in the markets....They always do and the market usually responds favorably especially in a friendly merger of leaders, such as this one... WIth Naz powering up...UNPH will probably be buoyed in all fronts...Depending on how the analyst community reacts, both could go higher tomorrow...
