"I thought they only updated the definitions once a month." i believe that it is not a set schedule, but rather they release new defs when their research dept serves 'em up. i know for sure that i get new stuff more frequently than every 30 days. "I am probably OK on not being up to date." go do an update. :)

tom, i've posed the question to symantec regarding how often they update their virus definitions. i'll get back here when a tech replies. something else that came to my attention the last couple of days... it's a wise move to NOT store your passwords on your machine. trojans like back orifice steal cached passwords in a matter of seconds once they're inside a target. so what if it takes a few extra seconds to type in a password? every time you do so you can feel that much smarter for having taken the preventative step to uncache your passwords. jmo, mark
