I was one of the ones who bought in today. I know a little late, oh well.

Has anyone read the release at Sedar site. Notice of Change or variation. I hope Barrick doesn't win this one but has to pay true value. Below is an article contained in release.( didn't post article because of copywrite laws)

Nemont not buying ???

Did they say why ? What about Barrick sweetening the offer ? I am curious since I was wondering if Newmont would pass this up for future favours from Barrick.

I found a posting discussing Newmont's ownership from yesterday. It didn't mention that Newmont wasn't making a bid - in fact it suggested they might.

Just a little confused. If you see the article, please post.

>>Rthe R - but what percentage of shareholders who hold stock with brokers will respond to your poll - only those who post here - probably small shareholders, and likely to oppose anyway?.<<

I don't know the answer to that question. Lets look at this as a random pole. Those who see the offer to respond and decide to do that are being counted. I would really like you folks to give me your answer so that we can get a snap shot of the sentiment of ARP shareholders reading this thread. No ones name or ID will be posted just the specific results. Note to those who do respond. I do not need to know the number of shares you hold if your answer is 'no'. Only 'yes' answers should give me the amount of shares being tendered. I have received many responses so far so keep them coming. I will update you all after 24 hours and the pole is over by 8:00 pm Saturday. Come on all! Did you/will you or won't you tender your shares? Responses are still flowing in even as I write this. Thanks to all who sent replies by email. Quite a few lurkers out there by the look of it.

Ray

>>There was a report on Reuters today saying that after studying the drilling results 'for 3 weeks' NEM has passed on making an offer.

The same report also said that Barrick had sweetened its offer after lobbying by some major shareholders.<<

Interesting comments DD. Could you post a link to these tidbits? Appreciate that!
