They would do that once the stock goes above the convertion price. That way the "lock in" some of the profits. The higher it goes the higher the percentage they'll convert. [Alomex]


yes, but i wouldn't also short the stock, one would do one or the other. e.g., from day one you could buy the convert and short the stock since the chance of ultimate conversion is very high!
