Experience shows being afraid of the market is good. It can roll-over and kill any investors suddenly, especially internut speculators. I agree AOL is the safest among all internet stocks, and that is why it is my only holding in this area. We all agree AOL will be the MSFT of internet. However, one needs to realize that there is only one MSFT, and I believe many other also-run internet stocks, including YHOO and AMZN, will disappear gradually or get distroyed by AOL in the long run. Just like many software companies get eliminated by MSFT gradually. After all, there can be only one dominating gorilla in the jungle.

tang,

The point of discussion is to gain understanding, not to sow fear. I apologize if the discussion leads to fear, but that's not the intent.

Your description of internet stocks and those who invest in them is romantic and possibly correct, but down at the core, an investment is still an investment. If you invest blindly, you are just gambling. Even in gambling, you'd like to improve the odds. Knowledge and understanding of a company improve your odds.

I am very happy with the way the stock has performed, even if I don't understand exactly why it's done so well. I'd like to know whether it makes sense to buy more, just hold what I have or sell. To do that I need understanding, which I'm trying to get.

I don't want to tread on toes here, so if it's not acceptable content, I won't mention these questions again.
