NETG is dead - an Internet stock that misses earnings is toast.

NETG: Their are only three analysts that follow NETG and they were at -.18 and -.20. I don't think you can really say they missed their number at all. the range of estimates was far to small to say that. I think the CEO will clear that up tomorrow. Plus the revenue growth and opening up of markets pointed to in the press release points to huge revenue growth in the coming quarters.

People need to realize that NETG has the top of the line advertising software and has just now gotten into taking orders for ads not just selling their software. This will have a smaller margin but the revenue growth will be huge just like that of DCLK, except NETG has the software and R&D to continue to grow its product line as this market develops.

I don't think earnings mean that much for net stocks in this market. I sold 2/3 around 27 because I was afraid of revenues shortfall, but I doubt the bottom line miss means that much for NETG.

That said, the stock was up quite a bit today in anticipation of the report; I am not sure whether the numbers are good enough in light of the heightened expectations.

Will see tomorrow.
