Dave, you know how I hate doing the numbers on this one. Every time someone does them, they turn meaningless the next day...!

I'll take your word on the numbers you quote. It may be overvalued. So what should we do ? Wait till numbers become meaningful and THEN jump in to invest ? To quote SweetPete, should we stand in the sidelines tll fundamentals catch up ? Or can we participate in what is this century's greatest communication paradigm yet...hoping, believing the fundamentals WILL catch up someday if it is to survive ?

I don't think most regular longs believe its a mania and hype. I think the belief is quite strong that somewhere down the line the fundamentals will make sense, that this is a great and vibrant business. But meanwhile, we'd like a piece of the dream.

Did you notice even the likes of INTL, IBM & MSFT are forced to give in to investor psychology in the current market environment ? The splits at this point did not make sense. They were more to capture the mkt hype and mkt dollar - to arrest the slip subsequent to the earning reports in each case. Is that a hype from your favourites (hey I have holdings in them too) ? Have they not contributed in promoting the "madness" ? Is that wrong ? Who cares ?

This is a consumer's dream, its an investors market...........enjoy it while you can !

"If somebody can explain to me where I am wrong, I welcome it."

(imagine Butthead is saying this)
Well like, uh, mostly what you, uh, have wrong is the...the uh, thinking..., uh, thing. Yeah, that's it. <g>

I don't have a clue.

You got that one right. You could add CSCO to your group too. And these companies had major corrections at one time or another. I do not know when the big Internet correction comes, but I want to be a big owner of puts or short stock when it does come. Anyone know a sure fire way to figure out when the collapse will come? Will it coincide with Y2K? Who will figure out that the end is near and take all their winnings to the bank?
