Easier to make note of components in PC group that didn't advance in Thursday's trading... Compaq
(CPQ -1/8) a notable standout as stock gave back a fraction of recent gains... Lots of good news
surrounding Company in recent sessions, though, with much of it already factored into its stock price
so lack of participation wasn't too disconcerting... Separately, ING Baring Furman Selz lowered its
FY99 estimates from $1.88 to $1.84 to reflect a higher tax rate.

I guess I'm one of the longer holders of CPQ having had it since April of 1997. It has split twice since I purchased it and my average price per share is $22. I bought more shares twice at slightly higher price than original purchase. My gain is 113%. I guess that means I get 50%+ per year. Of course that's not anywhere close to what Dell or the internets have been returning, but then I think CPQ is more of a blue chip than a momentum stock.
