The Uniphase shareholders get 1 share because their # shares outstanding is 1/2 of JDS's. Heard a report on the radio here in Ottawa that rated this a ten on a scale of 1-10. The combined company
will be 50% larger than their three largest competitors combined.
They were getting to the point were further growth would have required
them to move into each other's turf. I believe Uniphase will quickly move to $100 which would value JDS at $75-$76 Canadian short term.
12-18 months $100 Canadian would not surprise me. My opinion only for
what it is worth.
