Wallstreet will love this and the money will flow......

Uniphase Corp. (UNPH) rose 3 5/8, or 4.7 percent, to 80 3/4.
The maker of equipment used in phone networks rose on investor
anticipation that it was preparing to announce a merger with
Canada's JDS Fitel Inc. (JDS CN), analysts said.

I am surprised you feel ripped off. UNPH's technology is an asset many companies would like to have, IMO. I think this merger looks to be an ideal situation that will create a better, larger, more efficient entity. This is a win-win-win situation. Shareholders of both companies as well as their customers will all benefit.

JMO,
Michael

michael,
Unph is the gorilla in lasers. Be happy about this combo, you will make lots of money. Uniphase has already sold out of product for the next year, and this past quarter they tripled their facility for production in Switzerland.

Revenues have grown sequentially 6%, 7.5%, 11% and 17.7%. Gross margins are steadily climbing.

Do not be fooled by the net earnings, because UNPH has been buying up companies and facilities and technologies as fast as it can. Then they take a charge, which reduces taxes and net earnings. Hang on for a great ride. IMHO wj

Patience MR...JDS got two things easy...an instant listing and following in the NAZ and an opportunity to be trading at nosebleed ratio for a high growth company. Strauss has not led me down yet...I think he just got a taste of the big game....
