MG, Re: The Amazing Telco's

What is really interesting to me is to see BLS and BEL at the opposite ends of the spectrum. It will be interesting to see if this pattern continues.

Sadly, the first month of 1999 is coming to a close. I'm playing in 8 accounts. I call them my petri dishes. None of them are big accounts, 7 are IRA's, and all the folks are long-time tax clients that have given me the opportunity to play. I will forever be grateful to them.

Two accounts are in a broker-imposed penalty box. The broker didn't like me trading more than 100% of the position in a day. <g> My position was that as long as I closed out a previous position, why should they care. I've yet to receive a response to my letter of protest.

Make no mistake about it, I have made some really stupid mistakes during the month. It always amazes me how one stupid mistake tends to lead to a series of stupid mistakes.

That said, if I were a mutual fund (I could only wish), I'd be up 10.8% against the Index up 2.9%. Considering the procedural and technological barriers I'm up against trying to play in 8 accounts, I'm elated! Further, at this moment I'm 56% in cash. This position will change rapidly if OEX manages to break 636.

What is more amazing is how relaxed I am. I can only wish that the accountant FA part of me had seen the TA light long ago. I've studied this creature for 4 1/2 years, and I consider that 3 of them were totally wasted. Well, maybe not. The FA helps me identify the VRC's of the world, and then the TA can take over.

That's okay! It's the journey that counts, and not the destination. I'll be around tomorrow and then I'm going to take a few days off. My mom is visiting and leaves next Tuesday, and I'd like to treat the next few days as if we shall never see each other again. If we then do, it will just be a bonus. I'm sure that you can understand this.

Thus says TB.
