Good evening everyone:

Perhaps someone will mention this as I read through the rest of the posts, pardon me if I'm being redundant.

Is everyone aware that Jenna does give out a special watch list each day for SI? And I'm confident that she puts in every bit as much research into those picks as those we subscribers receive. Sometimes there are stocks on the SI watch list that are not on the subscriber list.

Could a compromise be that numbers be used up until, perhaps the 2:00 hour or thereabouts. Just recently Jenna was posting the subscriber list somewhere toward the last hour of the market.

That may seem tedious and I'm somewhat thinking out loud.

But the SI community can certainly benefit from the SI Watch Lists she gives each day.

Mary

I too grow weary of some of those threads and posters who list the ticker of their stock and a smiley face....over and over and over again.

Thanks Francois, then you do support my message of encouraging plurality here as being best for everyone's trading success?

exchange2000.com

Its such a great thread, it would be a waste of its synergy to divide its many sources of energy.

Jim

Francois,

If you are a subscriber profiting from the lists that Jenna posts I doubt whether you would have any complaint whatsoever to make as long as you had done your own due diligence.

This thread is very much in the spirit of SI, inasmuch as it has long been one of SI's top threads - even before there was a charge for the service of Jenna's picks.

Speaking of which, have you asked SI to allow you to become a member for free? Or is it understandable that they charge for their service?

That is also the spirit of SI - free enterprise.

Francois:

Many have benefited from the excellent picks and information Jenna has seen fit to put on this thread without any compensation whatsoever. She devotes considerable time to research and analysis and shares some of the results on this thread with no request for compensation. Perhaps you have benefited from her efforts Francois.

But, Jenna also runs a fee-based service to which I and numerous others subscribe. That service includes a watch list and newsletter which includes earnings plays. There is nothing wrong in my opinion with Jenna or subscribers exchanging information about selections on recent watchlists without identifying the specific stocks. You haven't been around long, but I can tell you that much the same happened last year on the Tech Stock Options thread last year when people were hesitant to post selections made by Bernie Schaeffer (Jim, I'm sure you remember this). Fact of the matter, there are potential copyright issues involved.

Jenna started this thread and only later started her subscription service. She devotes considerable time and effort to providing picks for the subscribers while, at the same time, sharing some other picks on this thread. What makes you think you and other nonpaying SI posters should receive the benefit of her research and work for free when numerous others have paid a fee?

Jim's post to me I believe misses the mark. Yes stocks move on information, but Jim's been around long enough to know that posts on this tread won't affect the overall movement of a number of stocks that have appeared on Jenna's list. Her picks are based on scans that involve analysis of a variety of technical indicators, as well as fundamental analysis. The reason that she highlights the stocks is that, based on the TA and FA, they are moving or about to move in her opinion in any event. With all due credit to the Dryers (or to GNET now), I don't think SI is that much of a force that posts on this thread significantly influence the moves of stocks like VRIO, MSPG, GCTY, etc.

This thread was started by Jenna, and many, many people have benefited from it. Rather than suggest that she, or anyone else, form "your own private site," I suggest perhaps you should start your own thread to discuss your own picks.
