Can anybody explain to me why Yahoo, with its own brand identity,
that started a message board all by itself not that long ago, would
need to buy Geocities for 4 ba-billion dollars?

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to buy and fire up some extra servers
and do it all by themselves? Does this make any sense?
