SW: KANA - XYBR NEWS: Kanakaris To Develop Internet LifeStyle Network as e-Commerce Portal for Proprietary Web Sites
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 1999--
GoGoliath.Com, WearableBooks.com are new sites which will join NetBooks.Com, Cyberpop.com and others as specialty Internet retailers
Kanakaris Communications Inc. (OTC BB: KANA - news) will develop the Internet LifeStyle Network(TM), ILSN.Com, as the e-Commerce shopping site for products to be offered by Kanakaris web sites described during a live Web cast from the World Trade Center on January 27.
The Internet LifeStyle Network will be the first entertainment/shopping channel on the Web. It will combine audio, video, and special entertainment features with e-Commerce. One-Click Shopping(TM) will be easily accomplished from the home page which will offer several categories of product offerings, including books, music, movies, and fashion.
From one page, viewers will be able to view their choice of entertainment or product listings which will appear in windows. Once the viewer has entered their personal information, they will be able to utilize the "one-click" shopping feature without the necessity of filling in their name, address and charge information. Special security features will be employed, including an off line ordering option.
Kanakaris feels it has an advantage entering the Internet shopping marketplace by virtue of its commitment to individual proprietary web sites devoted to different downloadable topics. The Company plans to open its new site at www.ILSN.com within ninety days.
Kanakaris will initially offer music from Cyberpop.com, books from NetBooks.com and WearableBooks.Com, movies from GoGoliath.com as well as Internet lifestyle products particular to Los Angeles and New York. The Company will use audio and video streaming technology to provide programming which is relevant to the shopping experience, while enticing web surfers with something more entertaining than a traditional online sales catalog.
"The Internet LifeStyle Network will be more like an interactive entertainment channel than a sales catalog," stated a Company spokesperson. Beryl Wolk, an originator and producer of over 1,000 infomercials, announced that he will use the new Internet Marketing Consortium and his multimedia support to help drive traffic to the Kanakaris web sites.
Kanakaris plans to draw on the strength of its new alliances to develop both proprietary and non-proprietary Internet lifestyle products to sell on ILSN. Among the newly announced Kanakaris alliances which will be used to benefit the Intenet LifeStyle Network:
(a) ION Systems Inc.which created and will maintain the new
secure online e-book technology now available at the Kanakaris
Web site www.NetBooks.com
-- Xybernaut Corp. [Nasdaq:XYBR - news], which is working with
