Good questions. I'm persuaded that CDMA is unstoppable. ERICY is just posturing to get the best deal they can to adopt CDMA. In my view, QCOM would be a steal at $10 billion for LU, ERICY, NT, MOT, or NOKA. I don't know how Jacobs feels. My guess is that he would accept a buyout from a friendly, well-capitalized company if he had assurances that he could continue to play a major leadership role. Best candidates: LU and MOT.

Ericy has repeatedly stated the are in talks to buy a data networker. They had a look see at Ascend but wouldn't pay the price. It is highly likely they will move in that direction. The field is dwindling.
