APPLE USERS: SPEAK DIFFERENT; SOFTLINK OFFERS NEW INTERNET VOICE CAPABILITY WITH RELEASE OF E-MAIL VOICELINK SOFTWARE FOR THE MACINTOSH
------------------------------------------------------------------------

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1999--Softlink
Inc. (OTC BB:SFLK.O) today announced the forthcoming release of the Mac version of its revolutionary E-mail VOICELink software.
With VOICELink, Mac users will be able to move beyond
conventional, text-based E-mail by recording and sending messages in
their own voice over the Internet. This revolutionary capability has
already made VOICELink the fifth best-selling software in its class in
Japan.
VOICELink for Mac allows users to record and send messages
naturally, in their own voice. VOICELink message recipients
automatically receive the player free of charge. Based on Softlink's
core technology, VOICELink supports audio compression up to 20 times that of ordinary WAVE sound files. Not only are VOICELink messages surprisingly compact, but recorded at the average spoken rate of 200 words per minutes (rather than the typed average of 20-40 words), they are quickly and effectively composed, sent and downloaded.
Softlink's President and CEO Johnson Lee enthusiastically
announced the release: "We are very excited about bringing our
software to the community of Mac users. Since Softlink's mission has
always been to leverage the capability of multimedia computers to set
a new standard for Internet communication, we recognize a natural
affinity with this community, which has such strength in the
multimedia arena."
Apple Computer Inc. (www.apple.com) has sold more than 30 million
units in 140 countries and estimates the number of users worldwide to
be well above 60 million. Computers running on the Macintosh platform
comprise an estimated 40% of all business use in Japan, and some 80% of graphics computing in the United States.
