Georgeb, Thanks for the info. Can I offer a small suggestion? When you quote a historical price, adjust it for splits. I bet there are more than a few people who end up using the unadjusted info, causing confusion left and right.

I use absolute price (preplit prices) rather than than split adjusted prices in calculating my projected highs and lows for AMAT using the highs and lows going back to 1990. It has proved quite accurate for my investing in AMAT. However, I do keep in the back of my mind what my cost is after the splits.

This method has worked so far for me in that I purchased AMAT in Oct. 1996 at $26.875 ($13.4375) split adjusted and this Sept at $26.50. My projection using the DW method off the low of $22 was $64. However, using the IBD "cup and handle" and Tito's $63 going to $100, IMO, AMAT will be hitting $100+ prior to Sept. '99. This is reinforced by Lester E. historical perspective.

Just my $.02.

Paul
