>>>>>That evil man was accused of abusing little children sexually by former members of the cult<<<<<

Interesting. I know Janet Reno stated this in her defense, but I thought it had been discredited widely. I recently caught the tail end of a TV special about another so-called child sexual abuse ring in Florida, that catapulted Reno to national attention, which turned out to be a hoax.

I think Koresh was a fool not to obey a subpoena, but I also think that the punishment visited on the others was far in excess of due process. Many have observed that Koresh could have been arrested when he came into town, and I have read that his lawyers were confident that they could get him to abide obey the subpoena if the government would back off.

Although most of us are too cowardly to exercise our consitutitional right to be free from illegal search and seizure, you do have the right to tell the police that they cannot come into your home nor search your vehicle without a search warrant. A simple arrest warrant does not give the police the right to come into your home if you are willing to come to the door and leave the premises. Our forefathers died to secure these freedoms for us.

I find it curious that you, who profess to believe in civil liberties, seem to think that Koresh and his followers did not enjoy the right to the same civil liberties. I wonder if it is because they were religious?

nihil,
Don't be so trusting. It is foolish. They made up that child molesting story AFTER things were already bungled and out of hand. The people who screwed up were running for cover and they needed excuses for being there. I suppose there were trusting souls in Germany too.

Bob.
