A potential market for Uncut Business News channel

Imagine that you are an online broker that is looking for a way to increase your client base, ideally clients that trade often. What if you could offer them a streaming news service direct from PR newswire, in a window that sits on their desktop? How much is 5 to 20 minutes head start on the rest of the individual investor market worth to an individual investor with this type of information???......lots and lots of money, I would say. The broker that can offer this service will attract many desirable clients, and will pay PR Newswire/TV onthe Web handsomely for it. Ultimately, ALL the online brokers will jump on the bandwagon, and ALL will be paying for the service.

In this context, video is not of any help, however, due to time element needed to view news. I think TVonthe Web is onto something huge with the concept of narrowcasting, but in some applications (e.g. rapid dissemination of business information) video will not be of added value, and will be a detriment. Ultimately, there may even be channels within channels, with Uncut News being the rubric for a number of different services, some with video and some without.

The challenge now, as has been said elsewhere on this board, is to gain rapid mindshare ASAP. This is another reason why the PR Newswire relationship is so important- it brings TV onthe Web on the radar screen of the major financial players.

Big things to come......
