option pricing is funny. You could buy puts and the the stock blast-off $10 and pay more for the put later.

Well..... I don't think option pricing is that funny, but good luck anyway.

The kind of volatility premium appreciation that you are talking about
rarely happens (I would appreciate one happenning right now, though, as I hold a bunch of DELL calls and am absolutely thrilled to think about what a 10 point rise in equity price along with a serious expansion in volatility premium will do to the call prices). In any case, best of luck with your puts. BTW, did Don Martini sell them to you?
