A- Just for the record on Lucretius.. He has battled and bemused us since April last year...At that time, he tried to convince us that Dell was going to tank...blah, blah, blah...He told us that he had bought put LEAPS.. In May, he tried to convince Lee and I that inflation was going to rage, and the Fed would raise rates that fall...and the party was over.... During the summer, he popped up occasionally...usually whenever Dell dropped 5-7 pts on a day....Spouting Rev. Lucretius Taurus gloom & doom scenarios....Buying more leap PUTS along the way.. On October 9th (or thereabouts) I told him to sell all his puts...he would never get a better opportunity to cut his losses...Apparently, he did not (although it would not surprise me if he said he did).. Since last April, he has espoused a strategy of gold, long Japan, and put LEAPS on companies like Dell...You dont need a WSJ and a calculator to know how miserable that strategy has been over the last 9 months... Since he showed up on the thread, Dell is up over 200%..(in less than 10 months).. Normally, I don't have such a good memory. But since Lucretius came on (like a bull...make that a bear.....in a China shop), throwing as much &^ against the wall as possible, mostly devoid of any facts, many of us have long memories of his investment history...Even Chuzz was pounding him (and it takes a lot to get that feline to be anything-but-gentlemanly).. He is one of the great contrarian indicators that we have.....Is probably a nice guy in person, though.....Hope he comes to the LoveFest in July! ggg
