California refiners seen escaping market woes
By Scott Hillis

LOS ANGELES, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Sagging prices for oil products have sparked cuts in crude production runs at some U.S. refineries, but California operations are seen escaping unscathed, industry sources said on Thursday.

Squeezed by narrowing margins or profits for products such as gasoline and heating oil, several refiners, including Sunoco Inc. (NYSE:SUN - news), Tosco Corp. (NYSE:TOS - news) and Tesoro Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:TSO - news), have slashed crude oil runs at facilities in the Northeast and Northwest.
