Funny, but heres something interesting I have observed over the last few weeks that may help. I use a 56k connection which I understand is subject to alot of slowdowns, but on a heavy open- I notice the quotes on my quotrek, and the wately quotes are faulty for the first 5 minutes.

I would tend to agree with you that its a problem on their end, plain and simple.. What can ya do? No biggee I guess as long as your aware of it..

I use MB with Time Warner RoadRunner (yes, the ultimate tease) as my ISP/connection and have found no difference between the quality of the quotes between MB and Watley, my ex-broker.

Rick, 56K is going to give you a lag on fast stocks no matter where you are. Also, PC Quote and S&P Comstock aren't perfect. Cyber told me one day PC Quote was lagging 2 minutes at the open. The many servers the quotes pass through on the way to you makes it very confusing to isolate the source of a problem. It also gives the guilty party the opportunity to pass the blame.

Preferenced SNET orders execute a few seconds faster at MB. You have the ARCA book at MB. Watley has ECN options and friendlier customer support--(maybe I just have to give the MB folks a little time?). MB has cheaper rates because of the lower ECN pass-thru charges. Watley's account info setup on their web-site is more user-friendly. MB's is more detailed but you have to be a pro to decode it. They should have a user-friendly summary available IMO.

I think it's a good idea to play the field a little anyway. It gives you firsthand knowledge and tends to winnow the BS out of your mind. Watley was FOS as per their PR "most stable system going" for the first part of their existence. Recently they have done what was necessary to get up to speed.
