What's more, no one was ever charged with breaking the (rediculous) Boland Amendment law. Finally, the Boland Amendment was probably unconstitutional

FDR contrived Lend- Lease But at least Lend - Lease, while negotiated in secret, was brought before congress and the american people before it was implemented. you exaggerate the extent to which Reagan was out of it. It appeared to me that Reagan never recovered from the gunshot wound he received. He wasn't getting the amount of oxygen he needed. He quit giving major speeches and was just pictured passing around jelly beans. meanwhile the Contras were there and more or less our responsibility It just more of not knowing when to let go. As it turns out the Sandinista government has made a real effort at democracy, even to the extent of losing the elections. If Ollie North hadn't gone cowboy that region would be more stable now. TP
