BancBoston Robertson Stephens Upgrades LSI Logic Corp. to a Buy Rating

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by BancBoston Robertson Stephens, a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, CRD number 41271:

BancBoston Robertson Stephens semiconductor devices/computer systems/storage analyst Daniel T. Niles today upgraded LSI Logic Corp. (NYSE: LSI) to a Buy rating from Long-Term Attractive. LSI is a leading supplier of customer high-performance semiconductors, with operations worldwide.

"We are raising our rating for LSI to Buy with a price target of $35 due to the company's strong revenues of $445 million, up 14 percent sequentially, improved book-to-bill, bottoming in earnings per share, good new product momentum, and an improved semiconductor market," said Niles.

Well, at least we know that we shouldn't look up to Jim Jubak for advice on this stock (or any other stock?!) :-) This one's up 170% in three months after Jubak issued his "sell" signal! (And to top it, he was saying "buy, buy!" at 33, 22... all the way down to the bottom, where, of course, he suggested that you sell everything!)
