If your friend spends $10,000 to buy DELL options here is what he gets:
Suppose he decides to buy the DELL strike 100 May calls. Suppose they are at $18 (I dont know what they are at but just suppose). Each call will cost $1800 and will give him the action or run up of 100 DELL shares. So if those calls were $18 he would be able to buy (not counting commisions) 5 contracts of DELL strike 100 May calls. That would give him the action on 500 shares of DELL.
