DELL relies on super-bullish news; last quarter, the mere suggestion that its growth was easing off caused a sharp deterioration in share price. I noticed this morning, early on the DELL thread, some substantial nervousness over the figures you have referred to. I thought that DELL might open up today, but as the day wore on doubts about its relative growth rate might create a crisis of confidence, again. Well, it did drop back during the day, but has surged again. My guess is that as these figures are disseminated, digested and discussed, DELL (unfairly in my opinion) will start to lose steam. Which is good, because I would like to buy it at a lower price for the two weeks before its earnings.

Carol, that's probably why Dell was only up $5 13/16ths, while Compaq moved up 7/16ths.

Compaq is good, Dell is better
