Sorry that isn't good enough technically. A reboot doesn't remove the ID. The ID is still there. A reboot doesn't change that fact. My how reluctant we are to provide technical details when it comes to Intel screw-ups. Not so when it comes to technical virtues! Then practically a flood of information and techie talk is produced by the Intel insiders.

Guys... Are you aware that each Ethernet interface card (network/cable modem/T1 etc connections...anything other than a modem connection) in YOUR computer...has a UNIQUE adapter address that is placed there by the manufacturer of the card....and that address is bound to your the unique IP number of your computer during each Internet transmission. that's it.....this is a MOOT issue! been there....have been giving away our privacy...already...so....done that! NOw for modem connections.......IP numbers are traceable by the ISP who keeps a log of all log ons by individual subscribers... so ...those who "need privacy"...guess what...you AREN'T guaranteed that on the Internet.... a subpoena....will suffice to obtain that information.... SO those who are "protesting about Intel" may as well...start...a little farther back... (it's not "consumers" but those with...a REASON to hide....that are most likely creating...havoc.) You can RUN but ya can't HIDE...... still smiling....Mary
