Do not forget, Softbank's profit are all on paper. Unless they cash it in, it could disappear in a hurry. If they do decide to cash in, then the stocks will tank and make their profit smaller. It is just hard to unwind 30% position at such an inflated level.

I of course don't know, but I'd be surprised if Softbank took huge positions in major Internet companies, only to cash them out after a couple years of growth. They probably see the value of their holdings increasing significantly in the future.
