Bill,

You clearly have much more background than I do when it comes to chip manufacture. I have never held myself up to know much about that business. BUT, you should re-investigate the CAP/DMT issue when it comes to CSCO. CSCO's products support both and Cisco markets an successfully sells both. Furthermore Cisco, as I said in my original post, holds a leadership position in DSLAM's and DSL modems sales - not only with hardware and software itself, but also with it's small footprint IOS software (CNP) which Cisco market's to DSL modem vendors.

Let's stick to the issue which is networking vendors - not chip manufacturers....
