PC Games March 1999, email, & stock movement Shhh, It's a Secret p.48 Gone With the Wind: 3DO closed Cyclone Studios' offices and brought the development teams into 3DO itself, though cofounder Evan Margolin left the company. Cofounder Helmut Kobler is also gone, but 3DO says it's just a leave of absence. Rumors are flying that Requiem will be killed given that its multiplayer doesn't really work and, in the wake of half-Life, its art needs a serious overhaul. 3DO insists it'll ship this month. Rumor also has it there's an internal feud about Uprising's future, with some wanting the third in the series to be a Gulf War game... MY NOTE: While I think Requiem is too important a release not to be released since 3DO has so few games, it would not at all be surprising to find out the multiplayer mode is buggy. Cyclone is developing Requiem and also Uprising which had questionable multiplayer capability. Sneak Peek, Might and Magic VII p.67, 1 full page with 2 pics Uprising 2: Lead and Destroy review, p.73 Overall rating = B- I wouldn't regularly mention the following but found it ironic: I just received the following email: Army Men II, the sequel to the best-selling title Army Men, takes plastic toy soldier warfare into the kitchen, bedroom, front yard, and garage. With cool new environments, crazy new weapons, and a new point and click interface, Army Men II looks to be smarter, tougher, bigger and damn proud of it. Army Men II Real Combat. Plastic Men. Stock Movement -as the previous post suggests, the stock will probably settle from here. There may be 1 more rally but it will be short and minimal. Long time traders of 3DO are probably looking at shorting (if they have not already). Chris
