Bill, I'm sure that there are others on the thread who could answer your question better than I about cancelling a trade or getting shares back that have been tendered. I have seen trades cancelled and I understand that it takes 3 days to settle a trade. There is such a thing as a cooling off period for other purchases and I know that there have been days when I definitely wanted my trade back.
If one can cancel a trade or the tendering of shares, it would be great if someone could post that up here and really get Barrick nervous over the weekend.

Withdrawl Rights

Any securities deposited under a take-over bid may be withdrawn by or on behalf of the offeree by giving the offeror notice in the prescribed manner at any time before the expiration of 21 days from the date of the take-over bid or after 45 days from the date of the bid if the securities have not been purchased. As well, if the terms of the take-over bid are changed before it expires, subject to certain exceptions (ie.BCSC changing the rulez for you-know-who?) the security holder has 10 days from the date of the notice of the varied offer to withdraw any securities deposited.
