YZ, It is difficult to imagine, but the writers of the first note on Dell's eps don't seem to realize that the calendar year and the Dell fiscal year are not the same time period. IDC is talking about Dell sales from Oct to Dec., during which they had the huge receivables flim flam late in Oct. to barely make their last fiscal quarter. Dell will report on sales from Nov through Jan, and the Jan numbers are not covered by the IDC reports.

As far as the data storage stuff, Dell has been selling them for years. It is just that they have had their own product brand produced by somebody other than EMC. Yes, they will increase margins, but they sure won't be 7-9 cents EXTRA in eps.

Hope this helps.
