Comments in IIOnline about PSQL earnings, hope they are right!
iiadmin.iionline.com

"PSQL - Enterprise resource planning (ERP) are the buzzwords these days; it's a hot industry and Platinum is one of the lead players. I see the company besting estimates by a penny, which will be quite a gain over last year's $0.07 profit."

PSQL reports on 02/04, as per IIOnline.

I think you are right about Peoplesoft having an effect....I am somewhat new to the perils of investing in individual small caps (I am well-aware of how dead these guys have been the last 3 years)...but it appears that such..I'll call ridiculous...overreaction just creates great buying opportunities for the patient investor who is paying attention..

Peoplesoft's problems are primarily their own...I agree that, as a result, we shouldn't see much (if any) impact for a middle-tier player like PSQL..

One quick question: I have read in a couple of places that an absolute explosion in ERP software is expected to take place around mid-2000 (when Y2K's chunk of IT budgets should be slowing down/ending)...I think that it was mostly in reference to the big corporate accounts (like the ones SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft chase)..but do you think that would also apply for the middle-tier players..

Also, if so, wouldn't that mean that not only PSQL, but also some of the big guys could be attractive buys during the year sometimes.
TIA.
