Sonny,

You wrote: A split does not make a stock better

Actually, there is a good way in which stock splits make things work better. A stock price doesn't move in continuous increments. That is, it will go up 1/8, or 1/4, or a point at a time. This is true whether a stock has split or not. Also, if the typical volume for a given stock is say 1M shares per day, after the split it will not be 2M shares per day but something smaller. Anyhow, the split lets you get more leverage - a 1/4 point move in the stock will mean twice as much after the split as before. I have not ever seen a stock that has split start to move in smaller increments after the split.

Yeah, my wife and I caught the flu when the power outages hit for over 2 days. It took a while but we are almost back to normal.

I hope you are recovering well. I've been taking care of several people in my family who got sick this past month. It has taken them a few extra days to get back to normal, but they are recovering one by one. Science is full of it if it says that you don't catch a cold from being cold. Cold lowers your resistance.

Sorry for the incoherence - my wife and I have been celebrating with a good bottle of wine after this month's performance in the stock market. We are up 30% this month and we did it without anything fancy, just holding the right stocks (INTC, MSFT, AOL, etc.).

Anyway, please get better and post more - you are one of the reasons I joined SI.
