What I was wondering is -- do you think this turn of events is significant enough to have any impact on the stock? Is this a turning point? Or more likely just another in a long, drawn out but eventually pointless litigation?

How about all of the above. Just my opinion, but I do not believe Wall Street has really discounted the impact this case will have on Microsoft. It goes to the very heart of Microsoft's business model: After all, if they can't integrate things into the OS, what can they do? ;)

Microsoft has spun this case very well -- they have got everyone believing they will lose at the trial court level, which they will, but they've already got the appeal sewn up, and in any event it doesn't matter because the remedies the government wants to impose will not affect them that much.

Don't you believe it.
