If you want V.C.-like returns, you need
to buy the companies when nobody else wants them.

All right! Nobody seems to want my stocks now...
so I'll be sure to come back to the Tree Falling
thread and do a little jig when/if everything falls
into place for me. Hope I didn't overshoot the hypo-
thesis tho--small, micro, nano, pico... femto biotech
is where I am now, heheh. I may have stretched things
a bit...my ntii has a market cap of something like 3M.
Eeek.

Have been pretty much lurking this past week,
better than being so noisy like I am usually.
And it is very hard to be chatty when your
stocks are going down...if only to the bid;-)

Company Press Release

Biotech Stocks and the Beach Converge March 13 at
Informed Investors Forums in Bay Area and San
Diego

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1999--Bioscience investors, mark
Saturday March 13 on your calendar today!

On that Saturday at Informed Investors Forums in Foster City in the Bay Area and San Diego in the Southland, nearly 30
bioscience companies will be giving analyst-style presentations to individual investors.

Up to 16 companies will present at the Sixth Bay Area Biotech Stocks Forum and 12 are expected at the Fourth San Diego
Biotech Stocks Forum, according to Tim Quast, President and Chief Operating Officer of Sacramento-based Informed
Investors, Inc., organizer of the Forums.

''It will be the biggest day in the six-year history of Informed Investors Forums,'' said Quast, ''and illustrates our success in
meeting investors' and companies' expectations.

''Individual investors applaud the non-sales, no-nonsense and highly educational approach that distinguishes our events.
Companies tell us we enable them to cost-effectively reach the retail investor channel in a professional, institutional
conference-quality setting.

''As today's Wall Street Journal noted, biotech is once again attracting investments from high-profile venture capital firms,''
added Quast.

''The difference from the past, though, is venture firms are now interested in biotech companies already public. This reflects
their belief that the industry is, as the Journal said, 'so undervalued that public companies have the investment potential of
private, early-stage companies.'''

Companies committed to presenting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City include several prominent Bay Area based firms,
led by industry heavyweight Genentech (NYSE:GNE - news), the first biotech IPO. Geron (Nasdaq:GERN - news) is one of
the high-profile companies as are Inhale Therapeutics (Nasdaq:INHL - news) and Sugen (Nasdaq:SUGN - news).

Other companies signed up in Foster City include Aradigm (Nasdaq:ARDM - news), Advanced Tissue Sciences, Aastrom
Biosciences, NPS Pharmaceuticals, MGI Pharma and ViroPharma. Others are pending.

San Diego also has a full slate presenting led by local firms Isis Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:ISIP - news) and Collateral
Therapeutics (Nasdaq:CLTX - news). Anesta Corp. (Nasdaq:NSTA - news) of Salt Lake City will be presenting at both
Forums. Other companies committed to presenting at the Mission Valley Radisson in San Diego are: Vical, SunPharm,
Cocensys and Interpore.

The Forums will run from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. with a lunch break. The cost at both locations, which includes a continental
breakfast, is $20 prepaid, $30 at the door. Call Informed Investors at 800/992-4683 to register. Audio tapes of each Forum
will be available for $45 plus $3.95 S/H which includes all company presentations plus keynote speakers. Individual company
tapes are $18.

Informed Investors biotechnology forums are co-sponsored by BioSpace.com, recently named the best biotechnology website
at www.biospace.com.

Informed Investors also has upcoming Forums in Denver on Saturday Feb. 6 and Pasadena, CA on Saturday Feb. 13. For
details, call Informed Investors or visit its website.

Since 1993, Informed Investors has hosted scores of quality companies and industry experts at its Forums.
