Clarence, immediately and without passing Go,
in the explorer select Options from the View menu
and

Check "Show all files"

Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types"

These two entries are definitely harmful to your
health. Bad as two big macs (yech-o).

You might look at the other options. I have all the
others checked myself.
