//NORTEL PULLS PLUG ON WLL PLANT
In a shock move, Nortel has announced the closure of its Paignton,
Devon manufacturing plant which is
responsible for producing the Proximity I wireless local loop
(WLL) products.//

I suppose it was a TDMA WLL plant. Not surprising that Nortel would pull the plug on that when they are involved in Qualcomm's WLL. If it wasn't making money, then there is no point in keeping it going. If the future lies with CDMA, better get out sooner rather than later.
