The trial is just a bunch of hungry natives (government attorneys) circling the fat pig (Softie), knowing that the flow of pork ($) will be substantial and unabated for many years. In this case, though, the pig is alive and keeps growing. The natives will be very careful not to kill the pig. (Although what was that story about a golden goose....?)
